Coming into the course I was already quite comfortable theory wise, using a variety of techniques such as string skipping, alternate picking, legatto and stegatto picking etc. to play fast technical pieces. During the time I have spent on the course I have learnt more about the technical side of gigging which inludes setting up a complete PA system and mixing desk (speakers, drumkit, vocal set up, amplifiers, stomp boxes). A prominant key element of live mixing was understanding the roles of Moniter and Front of House Engineers as well as the average pay as well as the kind of life styles one may be provided with as a live concert engineer.

For my FMP project, I am setting up and advertising a paid gig in the main theatre of the college which is accessable to the public in and out of the college. I will have to concider the various elements of constructing a live concert by which I will do by refering back to the example projects we have completed leading up to the final project. This project will take into concideration of Lighting, Backline, PA and mixing and safety regulations as well as advertisement and social media marketing which will displayed through instagram and tik tok. The song I have chosen to perform is "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon. In order to perform this gig I will have two guitarists (myself on rhythm and a lead guitarist), Bassist, Drummer and myself on vocals. Tone presets will need to be made in advance by the 1st of May so that rehearsal and full show run throughs are prepared leading up to the 7th of may. Risk assessment is crucial in determining whether the venue is safe for the audience as well as the bands playing. This will include: Fire escapes, Checking light fixtures. Venue capacity as well as cable capacity.

I will make an effort to log every decision made by me as the peers I am working with as to refer back to when evaluating the finished product. This will make it easier and more reliable when comparing my knowledge prior to beginning the course and what I have learnt during my time on the course relating to organising a successful live music performance
