For my FMP piece, I chose to play "Use Somebody" by Kings of Leon in a 4 piece band consisting of Kai Hawden, Jacob Pricey and Jaime Smith. This song was fairly simple in compostion and general mix but still packs quite a lot of punch and passion which for me was the perfect reason to choose this song for my FMP work. I constructed the tone patch using the Line 6 HX stomp weeks prior to the final show, but ultimately chose to create a new tone on the night hours before the final show as I was no longer satisfied with my previous tone. In making my tone, I used the Badonk amp head partnered with 1x12 Cali IV cabinet to get a clear, warmer structure for my tone. For my EQ I boosted the low and mid frequencies while slightly taking down the high end to get a more whole, tone. I lastly put a Blues Drive before the amp with low gain and drive to give the tone a little bit of a crunchy sting. I lastly created a second channel on the patch just to boost the drive on the pedal slightly for the chorus's which differed from my previously plan of just having one tone for the entirety of the piece. I can be seen near the start of the song reaching down to the stomp pedal to fix my tone. This is because my pedal malfunctioned when changing the channel on the page by switching a completely seperate patch. Despite throwing me off a little bit a managed to correct it quickly and it didnt effect the rest of the song.
