Kolby Hawcock
Level 3 Diploma in Music Performance and Production
Rationale
In Level 3 we learnt how to use Smart Targets, Risk Assessments, Composition and how to strip down a song to its acoustic format. Learning all of this helped us to choose achievable targets for us to work towards, it also helped us learn how to work together in Bands. The Risk Assessment helped us with Analysing our Venues and how we can change environments to better suit us. Composition helped to learn about making original music further benefitting my musical abilities and our Acoustic performance was good for helping us to learn about tweaking songs and stripping them down into a simple format making them better to play acoustically.

Project Concept
For the FMP, we must play a Show consisting of two 45 Minute Sets. I am responsible for a Single song of my own choosing that I will Perform. I will also oversee putting a Band together to help me play the song, Lighting needed during the Song, the PA Requirements and Instruments needed.
My Aim for the Show is to put on a Good Performance for the Audience and get better within my own Musical Abilities. To do this, I will do some Research into Stage Presence, how to contribute to a Band Setting, Bass playing Techniques and Singing Warm-ups/Techniques. Doing this will help me achieve my Aims and contribute to my Skills in the Future of Music.
The Show itself is being held in the Theatre, therefore I don’t need to worry about the Venue. For my Song, I will need; A Drum Kit, A Bass Guitar, Electric Guitars, Microphones + Mic Stands, Jack Leads, XLR Cables, Kettle Leads, a Bass Amp, Stomps and Stage Monitors/Speakers. The Stomps will need to have pre-sets ready for the Guitarists.
Starting from March 3rd, I will speak with my classmates to discuss putting my song together and who will help Perform my Song with me and make sure I have coordinated everything I need to play the song by May 1st.

Evaluation
Speak about reflecting on progress throughout the whole project and how you will reflect on it once its finished (final evaluation). Talk about how I will use my production journal for note taking throughout the project as a way of keeping record on what changes I have made.
Basically saying “this is how I will reflect on my work as the project goes on, this I will reflect once I have finished, I hopefully will have achieved these Aims”.
